Abstract
It is as important for football players to participate in training with motivation and high energy levels as the physical work they do in improving performance. In this respect, the purpose of the research was determined as examining the athletic mental energy levels and exercise motivation attitudes of football players. 410 football players participated voluntarily in the study. The "Athletic Mental Energy Scale (AMES)" and "Exercise Motivation Attitude Scale (EMAS)" were used as data collection tools. Athletic mental energy levels and exercise motivation attitudes of football players were examined in terms of league level, age and income status variables. In examining athletic mental energy levels and exercise motivation attitudes in terms of league level variable, it was found that athletic mental energy levels and exercise motivation attitudes of youth team football players were significantly higher than football players in other leagues. In the examination made in terms of age variable, it was determined that the athletic mental energy levels of football players in the 14-17 and 18-22 age range were significantly higher than those in the 23-26 age range and those over 26 years of age. In the examination made in terms of income status variable, it was determined that football players with lower income status had significantly higher athletic mental energy level and exercise motivation attitude than football players with higher income status. As a result, it was determined that the athletic mental energy levels and exercise motivation attitudes of the football players decreased significantly as the league level increased, age increased and income status increased.
