Abstract
The integration of artificial intelligence technologies into advertising production processes is transforming perceptions of the concept of “reality” alongside visual aesthetics. Particularly in fashion advertising, AI-supported visual production is moving beyond being merely a tool for product promotion, establishing a new aesthetic and meaning system through hyperreal representations. This study examines this transformation through DeFacto's AI-supported campaign titled “Really Beautiful,” featuring Afra Saraçoğlu in 2025. The digital visual and narrative elements in the advertising film were analyzed within the framework of Jean Baudrillard's concepts of hyperreality, simulation, and simulacra. A qualitative research approach was adopted; scenes, body representations, and digital space constructions were analyzed using semiotic analysis methods. The analysis was structured around the themes of “hyperreal beauty,” “the spatial construction of simulation,” “algorithmic individuality,” and “simulacrum fashion.” The findings show that beauty, identity, and individuality are reproduced through digital images in AI-powered fashion advertisements, and that fashion has been transformed into an identity performance experienced through simulacra. In conclusion, the study contributes critically to the intersection of advertising, fashion, and artificial intelligence by revealing that AI-powered advertisements create hyperreal spaces where not only marketing strategies but also social representations and cultural meanings are produced.
Özet
Yapay zekâ teknolojilerinin reklam üretim süreçlerine dâhil olması, görsel estetikle birlikte “gerçek” kavramına ilişkin algıları dönüştürmektedir. Özellikle moda reklamlarında yapay zekâ destekli görsel üretim, yalnızca ürün tanıtımına hizmet eden bir araç olmaktan çıkarak hipergerçek temsiller aracılığıyla yeni bir estetik ve anlam sistemi kurmaktadır. Bu çalışma, söz konusu dönüşümü DeFacto’nun 2025 yılında Afra Saraçoğlu ile gerçekleştirdiği “Gerçekten Güzel” adlı yapay zekâ destekli kampanya üzerinden incelemektedir. Araştırmada reklam filminde yer alan dijital görsel ve anlatısal unsurlar, Jean Baudrillard’ın hipergerçeklik, simülasyon ve simülakr kavramları çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Nitel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiş; sahneler, beden temsilleri ve dijital mekân kurguları göstergebilimsel analiz yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Analiz, “hipergerçek güzellik”, “simülasyonun mekânsal kurgusu”, “algoritmik bireysellik” ve “simülakr moda” temaları etrafında yapılandırılmıştır. Bulgular, yapay zekâ destekli moda reklamlarında güzellik, kimlik ve bireyselliğin dijital imgeler aracılığıyla yeniden üretildiğini ve modanın simülakrlar üzerinden deneyimlenen bir kimlik performansına dönüştüğünü göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak çalışma, yapay zekâ destekli reklamların yalnızca pazarlama stratejileri değil, aynı zamanda toplumsal temsillerin ve kültürel anlamların üretildiği hipergerçek alanlar yarattığını ortaya koyarak reklam, moda ve yapay zekâ kesişimine eleştirel bir katkı sunmaktadır.
