Abstract
The paradigm shift in 21st-century museology has transformed museums from object-oriented conservation spaces into experience-oriented cultural centers. This study aims to examine the educational function of the Düştepe Museum of Play in Ataşehir, Istanbul, through the design-oriented children's workshops held within the institution. The research employed a holistic single-case design, a qualitative research method; data were collected via the 2025 event calendar, workshop content documents, visual records, and interviews with museum management. The findings analyze how workshop practices develop not only psychomotor skills but also design thinking, creative problem-solving, and cultural awareness in children. Furthermore, it was determined that the free and accessible nature of the workshops, in line with the "social municipalism" principle adopted by the affiliated municipality, functions as a tool for "social inclusion" that balances socio-economic inequalities in Ataşehir. In conclusion, Düştepe Museum of Play presents a sustainable museum education model that transforms children into active producers, going beyond merely preserving the historical value of games and toys.
