Abstract

Open star clusters (OSCs) provide essential insights into stellar evolution and the chemical and dynamic evolution of the Galactic disk. In this study, spectroscopic and photometric membership analyses of the OSCs UPK 93 and UPK 40 from the UPK catalog were conducted. Using proper motion and brightness data from Gaia DR3, the membership analyses and determination of fundamental parameters (age, distance, and reddening) of these clusters were performed. For UPK 93, spectroscopic data from LAMOST DR9 provided values for eight member stars, including effective temperature ($T_{\rm eff}$), surface gravity ($\log g$), and metallicity ([Fe/H]), which were compared with Gaia photometric results. No spectroscopic data was available for UPK 40, so its metallicity was determined using Metalcode. Through analysis with the pyUPMASK algorithm, 41 member stars for UPK 93 with a 90% membership probability and 35 for UPK 40 with an 80% membership probability were identified. Isochrone fitting yielded values of $E(B-V) = 0.30$ mag, $DM = 9$ mag, and $age = 315$ Myr for UPK 93, while for UPK 40, the results were $E(B-V) = 0.41$ mag, $DM = 8.2$ mag, and $age = 800$ Myr. Examination of TESS observations revealed 14 variable stars in UPK 93 and two in UPK 40.
