Abstract

Congenital anomalies of the nose with the absence of alar cartilage are extremely rare. Trauma and infections are usually accused in etiology. The lack of alarcartilagecausesfunctionalandaestheticproblems. Isolatedcongenitaldeformitiesofthealarcartilageare frequently diagnosed incidentally during surgery. There is no consensus on how the reconstruction should be done. In this review, we present a case unilateral isolated alar cartilage defect whose findings, our diagnosis and treatment approach with similar cases in the literature.
