Abstract

Mucocelesaremucuscontainingstructuressurrounded by pseudostratified epithelium and they fill the paranasal sinuses. Mucoceles of the paranasal sinuses most commonly occur in the frontal sinus. Despite being benign lesions, they can cause bone erosions extending intraorbital and intracranial regions. Therefore, choosinganeffectivetreatmentapproachis essential. In patients with a history of trauma or surgery, frontal sinus obliteration with the osteoplastic flapisoftenpreferred.Apatienthaddevelopedfrontal mucocele after the transcranial pituitary surgery and was treated with the osteoplastic flap, was presented together with a review of the literature.

Özet

Mukoseller psödostratifiye epitelle çevrili, paranazal sinüslerin içini dolduran ve mukus içeren yapılardır. En sık frontal sinüste görülürler. Benign özellikli lezyonlar olmasınarağmenkemikerozyonuyaparakintraorbitalve intrakraniyal bölgeye uzanan erozyonlara neden olabilirler.Bunedenleetkinbirtedaviyaklaşımıseçmek çok önemlidir. Travma veya cerrahi öyküsü olanlarda sıklıkla osteoplastik flep ile frontal sinüs obliterasyonu tercih edilmektedir. Transkraniyal hipofiz cerrahisi sonrası frontal mukosel gelişen ve osteoplastik flep yaklaşımı ile tedavi edilen hasta literatür eşliğinde sunulmuştur.
