Abstract

Purpose: In this systematic review, it is aimed to comprehensively investigate and better understand the exercise training programs applied in pediatric cardiopulmonary diseases. Method: PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Clinical Trials.gov, CINAHL and PEDro databases were searched with the words “child, congenital heart disease, asthma, cystic fibrosis, kartagener syndrome, exercise” in the last 10 years (January 2012-January 2022). Research articles in English that are available in full text were examined. 89 accessed articles were included in this study. Results: 76 studies that were not eligible for the study were excluded. Analyzed on the basis of PRISMA notification criteria. In the analysis, it was determined that eight studies were randomized controlled studies and five studies were experimental studies. Conclusion: As a result of the included studies, it was determined that exercise training programs in pediatric cardiopulmonary diseases had an effect on increasing muscle strength, exercise capacity and quality of life. Exercise-based approaches have been found to improve patients' cardiopulmonary capacity and well-being
