Abstract

Recently, there has been an increase in nosocomial infections caused by antibiotic-resistant microorganisms. This situation reveals the importance of the frequency of antibiotic use and application status. The aim of this study is to measure the level of knowledge of nurses about antibiotics used in multidrug-resistant infections, to examine their application status and to draw attention to incorrect or incomplete applications. The research is cross-sectional descriptive. The data of the study were collected from 213 nurses working in a university hospital. In the study, a questionnaire form was used to determine the socio-demographic characteristics of nurses and their knowledge about antibiotics used in multidrug-resistant infections, and an observation form for the eight correct principles of drug administration. The nurses filled out the observation form as a result of the observations of the researchers during the randomly selected treatment hours. After the observation form, they were provided to fill out the questionnaire form face-to-face. Among the findings of the study, it was determined that the majority of the nurses paid attention to other drugs in the treatment plan while administering antibiotics, and the antibiotic remaining in the vial was stored under appropriate conditions. According to the observations, it was determined that the nurses made the most wrong application in the correct dose principle of the eight correct principles of drug administration. As a result of the research; it is recommended that nurses be trained on antibiotics used in multidrug-resistant infections.

Özet

Son zamanlarda antibiyotiğe dirençli mikroorganizmaların oluşturduğu hastane enfeksiyonlarında artış görülmektedir. Bu durum antibiyotik kullanım sıklığı ve uygulama durumlarının önemini ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, hemşirelerin çoklu ilaca dirençli enfeksiyonlarda kullanılan antibiyotikler konusunda bilgi düzeyini ölçmek, uygulama durumlarını incelemek ve yanlış ya da eksik uygulamalar üzerine dikkat çekmektir. Araştırma kesitsel tanımlayıcı türdedir. Araştırmanın verileri bir üniversite hastanesinde çalışmakta olan 213 hemşireden toplanmıştır. Araştırmada hemşirelerin sosyo-demografik özelliklerini ve çoklu ilaca dirençli enfeksiyonlarda kullanılan antibiyotikler hakkında bilgi durumlarını belirlemeye yönelik anket formu ile ilaç uygulama sekiz doğru ilkesine yönelik gözlem formu kullanılmıştır. Hemşireler random olarak seçilen tedavi saatleri içerisinde araştırmacı gözlemleri sonucu gözlem formu doldurulmuştur. Gözlem formu sonrası anket formunu yüz yüze doldurmaları sağlanmıştır. Çalışma bulguları arasında hemşirelerin çoğunluğunun antibiyotikleri uygularken tedavi planındaki diğer ilaçlara dikkat ettiği, flakon içinde kalan antibiyotiğin uygun koşullarda saklandığı belirlenmiştir. Yapılan gözlemelere göre hemşirelerin ilaç uygulama sekiz doğru ilkelerinden en fazla doğru doz ilkesinde yanlış uygulama yapıldığı belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; hemşirelere çoklu ilaca dirençli enfeksiyonlarda kullanılan antibiyotiklere yönelik eğitimler düzenlenmesi önerilmektedir.
