Abstract
Woman has become the object of social projects with the basis of her secondary social position. In this respect, the body of a woman has been at the center of all the political discourses as a struggle for power and authority; and it has been positioned as a sign of sometimes backwardness, religious belief and modernization. Along with the fact that its intellectual basis goes long way back to the ancient times, new woman profile wearing veiling in the new political and economic environment shaped with the rise of new conservative discourse in Turkey has been established. In this period including the transformation of veiling into a fashion, the style of veiling has been modernized and the environment of urban, educated woman wearing veiling has been designed. Âlâ Journal which started its publications with the purpose of guiding the clothing or tastes of this new woman profile with veiling has a significant place due to the fact that it is the first journal of veiling fashion. Within the scope of this study, the codes of women wearing veiling have been analyzed in accordance with critical discourse analysis and both veiling and fashion contradiction and reproduction of masculine discourse have been touched upon within the paradigm.
Özet
Kadın, toplumsal konumunun ikincilliği temelinde toplumsal projelerin nesnesi olagelmiştir. Bu bağlamda kadın bedeni bir iktidar mücadelesi alanı olarak tüm siyasi söylemlerin odağında yer almış, kimi zaman geri kalmışlığın, kimi zaman dini inancın, kimi zaman da modernleşmenin göstergesi olarak konumlandırılmıştır. Düşünsel temelleri daha eskiye dayanmakla birlikte Türkiye'de yeni muhafazakâr söylemin yükselişi ile şekillenen siyasi ve ekonomik ortamda yeni tesettürlü kadın profili inşa edilmiştir. Tesettürün bir modaya dönüşmesini de içine alan bu süreçte geleneksel örtünme biçimi modernize edilmiş ve kentli, eğitimli ve tesettürlü kadının çerçevesi çizilmiştir. Bu yeni tesettürlü kadının giyimine ya da beğenilerine rehberlik etmek amacıyla yayın hayatına başlayan Âlâ Dergisi ilk tesettür modası dergisi olması nedeniyle önemli bir yere sahiptir. Çalışma bağlamında belirlenen örneklem dâhilinde, bu dergideki tesettürlü kadın kodlarının eleştirel söylem çözümlemesi yapılmış ve hem tesettür ve moda çelişkiselliği hem de eril söylemin yeniden üretimi ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır
