Abstract

This study examines environmentally friendly STEM from a current perspective and presents application examples prepared from this perspective. The main purpose of environmental education is to train individuals who will find solutions to environmental problems. The most important feature of environmental problems is that they are not regional but global. These problems affect everyone regardless of religion, language, race, old-young, women-men, rich-poor, academics-farmers, villagers-city dwellers, science or music teachers, mathematics, chemistry or physics teachers. For this reason, protecting the environment is everyone's responsibility. To raise individuals who will protect the environment, a connection must be established between environmental protection and all school subjects. The aim of environmental education is not only to equip individuals with environmental knowledge but also to transform them into environmentally friendly individuals who actively strive to protect the environment. Environmental education aims to take steps towards solving environmental problems by developing environmental awareness. Environmental education aims to develop environmental awareness and take steps toward solving environmental issues. Including environmental education and raising environmentally conscious individuals in STEM, which adopts an interdisciplinary approach, is highly significant.. If environmental protection is not emphasized, there may not be a livable planet. Therefore, designing and implementing activities that will integrate STEM education with the environment and bring together science, engineering, mathematics, technology and environment will contribute to creating environmental awareness. With the integration of sustainable education into STEM education, it is our responsibility to protect the environment and leave a livable planet for future generations.
