Abstract

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationships between neck pain, disability, depression, anxiety, stress and physical activity in patients with chronic neck pain. Material and Methods: This was a cross-sectional descriptive study. The study included 74 patients. 58 of the patients were female and 16 were male. Pain intensity was assessed using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), neck disability using the Neck Disability Index (NDI), psychological status using the Depression-Anxiety-Stress Scale (DASS 21), and physical activity using the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Correlations between variables were calculated using Pearson's test. The significance level was set at p 0.05). A low level statistically significant negative correlation was found between stress and walking MET values (p<0.05). Conclusion: This study demonstrated the impact of psychological factors on neck disability. Therefore, treatment approaches should consider not only physical but also psychosocial factors. In addition, regular walking habits may be beneficial in reducing stress levels.

Hastaların 58’i kadın, 16’sı erkekti.
