Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to examine the effects of diet quality and caffeine consumption levels on the quality of life among adult individuals. Relationships between dietary habits and the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of quality of life were evaluated. Material and Methods: This descriptive and correlational study included 301 participants selected according to specific inclusion criteria. Data were collected using a sociodemographic information form, the Healthy Eating Index-2010 (HEI-2010), and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale (WHOQOL). SPSS 27 was used for data analysis, and Nutrition Information Systems (BeBis) was used for dietary intake analysis. Results: All 301 participants reported consuming caffeine-containing products. Women had significantly higher diet quality scores than men (p 0.05). While increased frequency of caffeine consumption was associated with a decrease in quality-of-life scores, the differences were not statistically significant. Conclusion: The findings suggest that women tend to exhibit healthier eating behaviors; however, no significant association was observed between diet quality and quality of life in this sample. Frequent caffeine intake may negatively affect certain aspects of quality of life.
