Abstract
This article examines highly visible femicide, suspicious death of women, and trans woman murder cases in Türkiye through recurring patterns of post-mortem violence. Drawing on qualitative case analysis and a discursive reading of media representations, the study focuses on evidence concealment, suspicious death narratives, public trauma, and transphobic invisibilization. The findings show that femicide does not end with the act of killing; it continues through the destruction of the body, the reconstruction of death narratives, the exposure of victims in media discourse, the digital circulation of traumatic images, and the erasure of trans women’s identities. By bringing the femicide/feminicidio literature into dialogue with case patterns from Türkiye, the article makes visible the post-mortem dimension of professionalized femicide and offers a case-based contribution to feminist criminology and gender-based violence studies.
Özet
Bu makale, Türkiye’de kamuoyunda geniş yankı uyandıran kadın cinayeti, şüpheli kadın ölümü ve trans kadın cinayeti vakalarını ölüm sonrası şiddetin tekrar eden kalıpları üzerinden incelemektedir. Çalışma, nitel vaka analizine ve medya temsillerinin söylemsel okumasına dayanmakta; delil karartma, şüpheli ölüm anlatısı, kamusal travma ve transfobik görünmezleştirme örüntülerine odaklanmaktadır. Bulgular, kadın cinayetlerinin yalnızca öldürme eylemiyle sınırlı olmadığını; bedenin yok edilmesi, ölüm anlatısının yeniden kurulması, mağdurun medya söyleminde tartışmaya açılması, travmatik görüntülerin dijital dolaşıma girmesi ve trans kadın kimliklerinin silikleştirilmesiyle sürdüğünü göstermektedir. Makale, femicide/feminicidio literatürünü Türkiye’deki vaka örüntüleriyle ilişkilendirerek, profesyonelleşmiş kadın cinayeti kavramının ölüm sonrası şiddet boyutunu görünür kılmakta ve feminist kriminoloji ile toplumsal cinsiyete dayalı şiddet literatürüne vaka temelli bir katkı sunmaktadır.
