Abstract

This study examines the effects of perceived stress on quality of life and academic achievement among associate degree students, as well as the mediating role of quality of life. The research was conducted with a total of 195 students from Ankara University and Kayseri University, using a survey method in which the Perceived Stress Scale and WHOQOL-BREF were applied. Data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0, employing parametric tests including correlation and simple regression analyses. The findings revealed that perceived stress is negatively associated with both quality of life and academic achievement, whereas quality of life is positively associated with academic achievement. It was determined that quality of life plays a full mediating role in the relationship between stress and academic achievement. The results emphasize the importance of stress management and quality of life enhancement strategies in improving student performance.
