Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the representations of Neşet Ertaş in philatelic materials published on September 25, 2022, within the context of visual culture, cultural memory, and oral tradition. The study, conducted through a qualitative research methodology, collected data through document analysis and evaluated the findings using descriptive analysis. Within the scope of the research, a total of nine philatelic materials were examined, including two commemorative stamps, two numbered series block stamps, four complimentary postcards, and one first day cover. The findings clearly indicate that Neşet Ertaş is represented in these philatelic materials both as a monumental figure and as a performance-oriented folk poet. In the discussion section, it was determined that a visual relationship between state memory and popular memory is established through figure-ground relations, typographic elements, and symbolic motifs. As a result, it was concluded that philatelic materials support the continuity of oral culture and serve as an effective tool for transmitting cultural heritage to visual memory. Accordingly, it is recommended that future studies conduct comparative analyses and investigate audience perceptions in the context of philatelic representations.

Çalışmanın amacı, Neşet Ertaş’ın 25 Eylül 2022 tarihinde yayımlanan filatelik materyallerdeki temsillerini görsel kültür, kültürel bellek ve sözlü kültür bağlamında incelemektir. Nitel araştırma yöntemiyle yürütülen çalışmanın verileri, doküman analizi yöntemi aracılığıyla toplanmış; elde edilen bulgular betimsel analiz yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamında; iki adet anma pulu, iki adet seri numaralı blok pul, dört adet bedelsiz posta kartı ve bir adet ilk gün zarfı olmak üzere toplam dokuz adet filatelik materyal incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, söz konusu filatelik materyallerde Neşet Ertaş’ın hem anıtsal bir figür hem de performans odaklı bir halk ozanı olarak temsil edildiğini açıkça ortaya koymaktadır. Tartışma bölümünde; figür-zemin ilişkisi, tipografik unsurlar ve simgesel motifler üzerinden devlet belleği ile halk belleği arasında görsel bir ilişki kurulduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, filatelik materyallerin sözlü kültürün sürekliliğini desteklediği ve kültürel mirasın görsel belleğe aktarılmasında etkili bir araç olduğu belirlenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, gelecek çalışmalarda karşılaştırmalı ve izleyici algısına dayalı filatelik analizlerin yapılması önerilmektedir.
