Abstract

Minstrel literature, which was formed as a result of the enrichment of the ancient tradition, which existed with the migration of the Turks to Anatolia, with the different elements of civilizations and communities encountered in Anatolia, and the melting of these elements in Turkish Culture, has been a source of emotions and thoughts from both Anatolia and the people from the very beginning of its formation has expressed. In the course of history, with the changing conditions, the interest and respect shown by different groups to minstrel literature has changed, but the need and interest of the people in this literature has not changed. Sivas, which has been an important center since the formation of minstrel literature in Anatolia, is important in terms of the number of minstrels and keeping the tradition alive today, as well as having a place in the formation of the tradition. This region, where many minstrels and folk poets live, is a center for the minstrel tradition with the association established, the books published and the programs made. Fatma Umar, with the pseudonym of Mother Bayrak, who is the subject of our research, is a folk poet from Sivas, and she wrote many poems using the local language of this region with her longing for her hometown and her love for Sivas during her time abroad. In this research, the poems of the poet created in this way were examined; His poems of this type are presented and the local (regional) words used in the poems are listed.
