Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) on employees' life satisfaction and psychological well-being. A quantitative research approach was adopted, and the study was designed using the relational survey model. The sample consisted of 347 employees selected through convenience sampling. Data were obtained using an online questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), Cronbach's alpha reliability analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and simple linear regression analysis were employed to analyze the data. The findings indicated that FoMO exerts a significant negative effect on both life satisfaction and psychological well-being. Furthermore, higher levels of FoMO were found to be associated with lower levels of life satisfaction and psychological well-being among employees. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to the development of policies and practices aimed at promoting employees' digital well-being and enhancing psychological health in the workplace.

Özet

Bu çalışma, çalışan bireylerde gelişmeleri kaçırma korkusunun (Fear of Missing Out-FOMO) yaşam doyumu ve psikolojik iyi oluş üzerindeki etkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, nicel araştırma yaklaşımı çerçevesinde ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. Çalışmanın örneklemini, kolayda örnekleme yöntemiyle belirlenen 347 çalışan oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri çevrim içi anket tekniğiyle elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi (DFA), Cronbach's Alpha güvenirlik analizi, Pearson korelasyon analizi ve basit doğrusal regresyon analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçları, gelişmeleri kaçırma korkusunun yaşam doyumu ile psikolojik iyi oluş üzerinde anlamlı ve negatif yönde etkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Bunun yanı sıra FOMO düzeyindeki artışın çalışanların yaşam doyumu ve psikolojik iyi oluş düzeylerinde azalmaya neden olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularının, çalışanların dijital iyi oluşunu desteklemeye ve iş yaşamında psikolojik sağlığın geliştirilmesine yönelik politika ve uygulamalara katkı sağlayacağı değerlendirilmektedir.
