Abstract

Aim: This study examined the relationship between spiritual well-being and caregiver burden in hemodialysis patient caregivers. Materials and Methods: This descriptive-correlational study was conducted with 71 caregivers (79.75% participation) of hemodialysis patients in a state hospital (March-April 2023). Data were collected via a Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS), and the Zarit Burden Interview (ZBI). Analysis used descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation (p<0.05). Results: Caregivers had high SWBS and moderate ZBI scores. Spiritual well-being correlated with marital status, relationship to patient, care duration, and encountered problems. Burden correlated with care duration, marital status, and training. A significant negative correlation was found between scales (r=-0.625, p<0.05). Conclusion: Implementing psychospiritual support and burden-reducing training for caregivers is crucial. Integrating spiritual counseling into multidisciplinary nursing care may improve caregivers' quality of life.
