Abstract

This research was conducted over two consecutive years in (2009-2010) vineyard of the Department of Horticulture at Cukurova University in Adana located in the Eastern Mediterranean Region of Turkey on Royal variety to determine different irrigation levels and the economic analysis on the efficiency of different irrigation levels with drip system on yield and economic analysis. In the study, six different treatments based on irrigation treatments; full irrigation (TS), soil water deficit in the 80 cm within the seven-day intervals was replenished to the field capacity; deficit irrigation (KS-75), in which 75 % of water applied to full irrigation treatment; deficit irrigation (KS-50), in which 50% of water applied to full irrigation treatment; partial rootzone drying (PRD-50), in which 50% of water applied to full irrigation, laterals operated alternately; partial rootzone drying (PRD-75), in which 75% of water applied to full irrigation, lateral operated alternately; a control treatment (non irrigated). Experimental design is randomized blocks with three replications. In general, irrigation treatments had significant effect on yield at 1% level. Lowest yields were obtained from the non-irrigated control treatment in the experimental year. Highest yield was obtained from the full irrigation (TS) as 28.6 t ha-1 , and the lowest yield was obtained 12.5 t ha-1 . Net profit ranged between 4802-11907 $ ha-1 in 2009 and 5839-12401 $ ha-1 in 2010 according to the irrigation treatments. Net profit was the highest under full irrigation treatment (TS).
