Abstract

Başlık: Turkish Validity and Reliability Study of Patient Participation Activities Scale Öz: Objective: In the study, it was aimed to bring the Patient Participation Activities, which is a 20-question measurement tool developed in the study conducted by Hwang et al. in 2019, to the national literature. Methods: The population of the study, which was carried out methodologically, consisted of 284 nurses working in the clinics of a university hospital in Izmir; The sample consisted of 202 nurses. Language validity, content validity, test-retest analyzes and factor analysis was used to evaluate construct validity in the validity and reliability phase of the scale. Internal consistency of the scale was evaluated with Cronbach's Alpha coefficients. Results: In this study, the content validity index values of the scale were 0.80 and above for 19 of the 20 items; It was obtained as 0.77 for one item. In the construct validity evaluation, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test result was 0.909 and the Bartlett test result was p=0.000. Thus, it was concluded that the data were suitable for factor analysis. As a result of factor analysis, it was seen that the three-factor structure of the scale was confirmed. The reliability study was conducted by measuring the total correlation of the items, no items below the value of 0.40 were found, and the Cronbach Alpha value was found to be 0.90. In the test-retest analysis, the intraclass correlation value was found to be 0.93, and no statistically significant difference was found between the test-retest results. Conclusion: It has been determined that the Patient Participation Activities Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for Turkey. Anahtar Kelimeler: Patient safety; patient participation; nursing care; validity and reliability.
