While newspaper and magazine publishing began in the 17th century in the west, it started in the 19th century in our country. Just like in other developments and changes, the West served as a model in this field as well. One of the main reasons for the delay in our newspaper and magazine publishing, which has a short history of approximately 150 years, is the late arrival of the printing press. During the Ottoman period, newspaper and magazine publishing had the characteristics of newspapers. The newspapers of this period were the official organs of the state and served the purpose of providing news. In subsequent periods, magazines covering subjects such as medicine, science, art, and literature continued their development by distinguishing themselves from newspapers. Magazine publishing, which flourished during the Republican period, aimed to serve with the purpose of moving the nation forward in cultere and art, rather than the magazine publishing of the previous period, which aimed to educate the public. Literary World, which we will discuss in our study, is an intellectual and artistic magazine published between 1948 and 1950. The magazine, which mainly featuring stories and poems, also includes articles dealing with the development of these genres. There are also many reviews on culture and art. The critic Fahir Onger, who is among the writers of the magazine, has also wrote critical articles on literature, art, and artists. In our study, we aim to reveal Fahir Onger's contributions to literature within the framework of Literary World Magazine by evaluating these critical articles.

Batı’da 17.yy.da başlayan gazete ve dergicilik bizde 19.yy.da başlar. Tıpkı diğer gelişmeler ve değişimlerde olduğu gibi bu alanda da Batı örnek alınır. Ortalama 150 yıllık kısa bir geçmişe sahip gazete ve dergiciliğimizin gecikmesinin başlıca nedenlerinden biri matbaanın geç gelişidir. Osmanlı döneminde gazete ve dergicilik daha çok gazete niteliğindedir. Bu dönem gazeteleri devletin resmî organı olup haber verme niteliği taşır. Daha sonraki dönemlerde tıp, fen bilimleri, sanat, edebiyat gibi konuları içeren dergiler gazetelerden ayrışarak gelişimini sürdürür. Cumhuriyet döneminde oldukça zenginleşen dergicilik bir önceki dönemin halkı eğitmek amacı taşıyan dergiciliğinden ziyade milleti kültür ve sanatta ileriye taşıma hedefi doğrultusunda hizmet verme hedefini taşır. Çalışmamızda ele alacağımız Edebiyat Dünyası, 1948-1950 yılları arasında çıkarılmış fikir ve sanat dergisidir. Ağırlıklı olarak hikâye ve şiirlerin yer aldığı dergide, bu türlerin gelişim çizgisini ele alan yazılara da yer verilmiştir. Ayrıca kültür ve sanat konusunda pek çok fikir yazısı mevcuttur. Derginin yazar kadrosunda yer alan eleştirmen Fahir Onger, edebiyat, sanat ve sanatçı üzerine tenkit yazıları yazmıştır. Biz çalışmamızda bu tenkit yazılarını değerlendirerek Edebiyat Dünyası dergisi çerçevesinde Fahir Onger’in edebiyata katkılarını ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamaktayız.
