Abstract
Aim: Evidence-based medicine (EBM) practices aim to provide medical students with experience in the design and conduct of medical research, analysis and presentation of findings. In this way, it aims to contribute physicians who have acquired the ability of critical thinking and scientific reasoning to the health and academic community. Material and Methods: EBM course is included in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Medicine Term III curriculum. Students work under the guidance of a faculty advisor during the scientific research process. The head of the Education commission of the Faculty of Medıcıne directs the course. In this context, EBM studies are carried out by meeting in groups at the dates determined in the curriculum during a semester, determining and planning the research topic, carrying out the ethics committee approval process, examining the research data and presenting the project. Results: 81 Term-III medical students and 14 responsible faculty members attended. Survey studies with the participation of students and patients, clinical studies, and laboratory studies in the field of basic medical sciences constituted the EBM project topics in this academic year. The results of the projects were presented online by the students under the guidance of the faculty members. Conclusion: EBM course is an important part of the undergraduate education curriculum of Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Faculty of Medicine. Amaç: Kanıta dayalı tıp (KDT) uygulamaları, Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinin tıbbi araştırmaların tasarlanması, yürütülmesi, bulguların analizi ve sunumu alanlarında tecrübe kazanmalarını amaçlar. Bu sayede eleştirel düşünme ve bilimsel akıl yürütme yeteneği kazanmış hekimlerin sağlık ve akademik camiaya kazandırılmasını hedefler. Gereç ve Yöntemler: KDT dersi, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Dönem III ders programı içinde yer almaktadır. Öğrencilerin bilimsel araştırma sürecinde bir danışman öğretim üyesi rehberliğinde çalışmaları sağlanır. Fakültenin Eğitim komisyon başkanı bütün çalışmalara önderlik eder. Bu kapsamda KDT çalışmaları, bir dönem boyunca ders programında belirlenen tarihlerde gruplar halinde bir araya gelinerek, araştırma konusunun belirlenmesi ve planlanması, etik kurulu onay sürecinin gerçekleştirilmesi, araştırma verilerinin incelenmesi ve projenin sunulması şeklinde yürütülür. Bulgular: 2022-2023 Eğitim döneminde gerçekleştirilen KDT çalışmalarına Dönem III’ten 81 öğrenci ve danışman 14 öğretim üyesi katıldı. Öğrencilerin ve hastaların katılımıyla yapılan anket çalışmaları, klinik çalışmalar, ve temel tıp bilimleri alanındaki laboratuvar çalışmaları bu eğitim yılındaki KDT proje konularını oluşturdu. Projelerin sonuçları öğretim üyelerinin rehberliğinde öğrenciler tarafından çevrimiçi ortamda sunuldu. Sonuç: KDT dersi, Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinin mezuniyet öncesi eğitim müfredatının önemli bir parçasıdır. Daha önceki yıllarda olduğu gibi, 2022-2023 Eğitim döneminde de, projeler başarıyla yürütülmüş ve öğrencilerin bilimsel düşünme ve analiz metodolojisinde tecrübe kazanmaları sağlanmıştır.
