Abstract

Fusarium oxysporum f.spp. melonis (FOM) is a disease that causes high yield losses caused by a soil-based pathogen. Four different strains (0, 1, 2 and 1-2) of the disease-causing fungus were identified in melon fields. Resistance to wilt disease in melon is controlled by FOM-1, and FOM-2 genes. F.oxysporum f.spp. melonis (FOM) has been reported to be resistant to the FOM-1 against races 0 and 2. It has been found that FOM-2 gene is resistant to the races 0 and 1 of FOM. The most effective and environmentally friendly way to combat this soil-based pathogen is to use a resistant variety. In our study, the 195 individual isolation of 5 father lines and 39 main lines were performed as a result of our previous work and were based on FOM-1 and FOM-2. In molecular studies, SB17645 and SV01574 marker for race 1, NBS1-caps and CAPS2 marker for race 2 are used. As a result, the FOM-1 was found as 184 homozygotes resistant (RR), 5 homozygotes sensitive (rr), and FOM-2 was found as 129 homozygotes resistant (RR), 60 homozygygote sensitive (rr).
