Abstract

This study examines Career Construction Interview (CCI) based on Career Construction Theory as one of post-modern career theories. CCI is used as qualitative career assessment tool and career counseling method in order to determine reasons and dynamics underlined problems that bring the client to counseling. There are enormous studies in the international literature, yet few in Turkey. Therefore, this study aims to review main principles, evaluation and interpretation of the CCI and draw attention to caveats. In spite of critics to the theory, the CCI is tool that is culturally sensitive, responsive to the need of paradigm shift in career counseling and provides subjective, meaningful and holistic examination of the self, which contributes to self-exploration that the clients crucially need in their career construction.
