Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine digital games designed for early childhood in terms of developmental appropriateness, educational content, ethical risks, and implicit messages. The research was conducted as a content analysis study within the framework of a qualitative research approach. In the study, three digital games selected through purposive sampling were analyzed using an evaluation form developed by the researchers. The findings indicate that the examined games include elements that may support certain cognitive skills; however, they also contain some limitations in terms of developmental appropriateness and ethical content. Additionally, it was determined that implicit messages and archetypal themes are present in the games. The results of the study highlight the importance of adult guidance in the use of digital games during early childhood.
