Abstract
Translation is the process of reconstructing the semantic universe established in one language into another, taking into account not only the words but also the cultural codes, ways of thinking, and associative fields of that language. Generally, translation studies is considered to consist of descriptive, theoretical, and applied fields. This study utilizes the translation methods of Vinay and Darbelnet. In their work "Stilistique Comparée Du Français Et De L’anglais," Vinay and Darbelnet initially divided translation into two main groups: direct and indirect methods, developing three methods for direct translation and four for indirect translation. This study examines verse 282 of the Surah Al-Baqarah in the TİEM 73 manuscript. The findings indicate that a large proportion of the words and word groups in the verse conform to direct translation methods. The study also identifies words and word groups that were not translated or were translated excessively. Furthermore; Verse 282 was compared with the Hekimoğlu manuscript, which are interlinear translations of the Quran from Eastern Turkic, and with the TİEM 40 Manuscript, which is a translation of the Quran from Western Turkic.

Çeviri; bir dilde kurulmuş anlam evreninin yalnızca sözcükleri değil o dilin kültürel kodlarını, düşünme biçimini ve çağrışım alanlarını dikkate alarak başka bil dilde yeniden kurulması sürecidir. Genel olarak çeviribilimin betimleyici, kuramsal ve uygulamalı alanlardan oluştuğu kabul edilir. Bu çalışmada Vinay ve Darbelnet’nin çeviribilim yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Vinay ve Darbelnet ilk olarak “Stilistique Comparée Du Français Et De L’anglais” adlı eserlerinde çeviriyi doğrudan ve dolaylı yöntemler olarak iki ana gruba ayırmışlar ve doğrudan çeviri için üç, dolaylı çeviri için dört yöntem geliştirmişlerdir. Bu çalışmada TİEM 73 yazmasının Bakara suresinde yer alan 282. ayet incelenmiştir. Ortaya çıkan bulgulara göre ayette yer alan kelime ve kelime gruplarının büyük bir oranda doğrudan çeviri yöntemlerine uyum sağladıkları tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmada karşılık verilmeyen veya fazladan karşılık verilen kelime ve kelime grupları da tespit edilmiştir.
