Abstract

Problems related to reproduction make it difficult to have children today. Couples who have never encountered the concept of infertility before are struggling with many psycho-social factors in the process with the first diagnosis when they set out with the desire for a child. When infertility is considered, it is thought that providing family trainings, family life skills, psycho-social intervention methods support to individuals and families within the scope of social services will be effective in gaining skills such as coping with the process, learning treatment options, and adapting to treatments. In this context, the aim of the study is to obtain information about the emotional changes experienced by individuals diagnosed with infertility, the types of support they need, their opinions about the family education programme and the topics or contents that they consider useful in the family education programme. Qualitative research method was used in the study; the data were collected by interviewing 12 women who underwent infertility treatment at some point in their lives using semi-structured interview technique. The data obtained were analysed in Maxquda Program. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that the categories affecting the lives of the participants in the infertility process were concentrated within the framework of "feelings and thoughts", "sharing with family and relatives", "information about childbearing methods", "effects of infertility", "help", "family education programme", "scope of family education programme". It has been concluded that family education programs create a facilitating effect in helping individuals undergoing infertility treatment cope with their personal and social problems and accept the process.

Özet

Üreme ile ilgili sorunlar günümüzde çocuk sahibi olmayı zorlaştırmaktadır. İnfertilite ele alındığında bireylere, ailelere sosyal hizmetler kapsamında aile eğitimleri, aile yaşam becerileri, psiko-sosyal müdahale yöntemleri desteği verilmesinin; bu kişilerin süreçle baş edebilme, tedavi seçeneklerini öğrenme, tedavilere uyum sağlama gibi beceriler kazanmasında etkili olacağı düşünülmektedir. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın amacı, infertilite tanısı almış bireylerin deneyimlerinden yola çıkarak süreç içinde yaşadıkları duygu değişimleri, ihtiyaçları olan destek türleri, aile eğitim programı hakkındaki görüşleri ve aile eğitim programında olmasının faydalı olacağını düşündükleri konular veya içerikler hakkında bilgi edinmektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmış; veriler yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılarak yaşamlarının bir döneminde infertilite tedavisi gören 12 kadın ile görüşülerek toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler Maxquda Programı’nda analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda infertilite sürecinde katılımcıların yaşamlarını etkileyen kategorilerin “duygu ve düşünce”, “aile ve yakınlarla paylaşma durumu”, “çocuk sahibi olma yöntemleri hakkında bilgi”, “infertilitenin etkileri”, “yardım”, “aile eğitim programı”, “aile eğitim programının kapsamı” çerçevesinde yoğunlaştığı görülmüştür. Aile eğitim programlarının infertilite tedavisi gören bireylerin yaşadıkları bireysel ve toplumsal sorunları çözmede ve süreci kabullenmede kolaylaştıracağı bir etki yarattığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
