Abstract
The aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of automotive technicians by the automotive sector. The research is in survey model and the population of the study consists of business owners, managers and technical staff working in automotive enterprises operating in Tekirdağ province in 2023. Randomly selected 98 representatives working in 67 automotive companies were determined as the sample of the study. Within the framework of the research, data were collected from the sector representatives using a five-point Likert scale. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and predictive statistical techniques with the help of SPSS data analysis program. According to the results of descriptive statistical analysis, the opinions of the sector representatives are grouped under the factors of 1) Fault detection, informing the customer, taking responsibility, preparing an environment suitable for occupational health and safety, 2) Repairing according to work plans, technical documents and customer demand, 3) Preparing the workshop for use for fault detection and basic maintenance. According to the results of predictive statistical analysis, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the opinions of automotive sector representatives on the performance of automotive technicians according to the variables of education, age and seniority. In line with the results obtained, it is recommended that various measures should be taken by vocational colleges, automotive technicians and the enterprises that employ them in order to further increase the professional competence levels of automotive technicians.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, otomotiv tekniker performanslarının otomotiv sektörü tarafından değerlendirilmesidir. Araştırma tarama modelinde olup, çalışmanın evrenini 2023 yılında Tekirdağ ilinde faaliyet gösteren otomotiv işletmelerinde çalışan işletme sahipleri, yöneticiler ve teknik elemanlar oluşturmaktadır. Rastgele seçilen 67 otomotiv firmasında çalışan 98 temsilci, araştırmanın örneklemi olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırma çerçevesinde sektör temsilcilerinden beşli Likert ölçeği kullanılarak veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, SPSS veri analiz programı yardımıyla betimsel ve yordamalı istatistik teknikleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Betimsel istatistik analiz sonuçlarına göre sektör temsilcilerinin görüşleri; 1) Arıza tespiti, müşteriyi bilgilendirme, sorumluluk alma, iş sağlığı ve güvenliğine uygun ortam hazırlama, 2) İş planlarına, teknik dokümanlara ve müşteri talebine göre onarım yapma, 3) Arıza tespiti ve temel bakım için atölyeyi kullanıma hazırlama faktörleri altında toplanmıştır. Yordamalı istatistik analiz sonuçlarına göre, otomotiv sektörü temsilcilerinin otomotiv teknikerlerinin performanslarına ilişkin görüşleri arasında eğitim, yaş ve kıdem değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar doğrultusunda, otomotiv teknikerlerinin mesleki yeterlilik düzeylerinin daha da artırılması için meslek yüksekokulları, otomotiv teknikerleri ve onları istihdam eden işletmeler tarafından çeşitli önlemlerin alınması önerilmektedir.
