Abstract

An infection characterized with paralysis in wing, leg and neck, lameness, cachexia, depression and death w as determıned in the geese (201 O geese, 45 days old) imported from France to be brought up as breeders in Kars Goose Reproduction Station. Atrophy in burca of fabricius, enlargement in liver and spleen, thickening in proventriculus, peritonitis, pericarditis, thickening and a yellowish colour in leg and wing nerves were observed at autopsy. In histopathological examinations, anisomorphic, pleomorphic lenphoid cell population in proventriculus, liver, spleen and hearth, and coligranuloma in some animals, were observed. In bacteriological examinations, E. coli and Staph. aureus were isolated from internal organs and hock joints of some infected animals, respectively. Blindness w as determined in five of the recovered animals. The disease determined clinically, last 20 days. The mortality rate was determined as %10. The elinical signs, necropsy and histopathological aspect of the disease were similar to Marek's disease of chickens . The elinical signs, autopsy and histopathological findings of the disease in geese and the stuation of the disease in the region, were discussed.
