In interior architecture, presentation boards (paftas) are utilized during the presentation and approval phases of a project. Interior architectural boards are tools used at various stages of a project to visualize the design and facilitate communication. By highlighting important details of the project, these visual communication tools aim to reach the target audience. The effectiveness of the presentation depends not only on the quality of the project but also on the graphic language used, the uniqueness of the boards, and the level of clarity in explaining the project. Boards are a critical tool that starts being used during professional education and retains its importance throughout a professional career. Therefore, it is expected that students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for board design during their education. The aim of this study is to determine the competency levels of interior architecture students in board design, as well as to identify their strengths and weaknesses in board design. Through the workshop activities focused on board design and the data collected from the boards and surveys, the students' awareness levels, the impact of their computer skills on board design, and the strengths and weaknesses of the boards as evaluated by an expert team were revealed. The results of the study indicate that students tend to overlook fundamental approaches when expressing their projects on boards. This underscores the need for a better understanding of the importance of board design and suggests that it should receive more emphasis in education.

İç mimarlıkta projenin sunumunda ve onay sürecinde pafta kullanılmaktadır. İç mimari pafta, projenin farklı aşamalarında çeşitli içeriklerde hazırlanabilen, tasarımı görselleştirmede ve iletişimi kolaylaştırmada kullanılan araçlardır. Bu görsel iletişim araçları ile projenin önemli detayları öne çıkartılarak hedef kitleye ulaşmak amaçlanmaktadır. Sunumun etkili gerçekleşmesinde projenin niteliği kadar sunumda kullanılan grafik dil, pafta özgünlüğü ve projeyi anlatma düzeyi etkili olmaktadır. Pafta, mesleki eğitim sürecinde kullanılmaya başlanan ve profesyonel kariyer boyunca da önemini koruyan kritik bir araçtır. Bu nedenle eğitim sürecinde öğrencinin pafta tasarımına yönelik gerekli bilgi ve beceriyi kazanması beklenir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, iç mimarlık öğrencilerinin pafta tasarımı konusundaki yetkinlik seviyelerini ve pafta tasarımındaki güçlü ve zayıf yönlerini belirlemektir. Pafta tasarım workshop etkinliği ile elde edilen pafta ve anket verileri ile öğrencilerin farkındalık düzeyleri, bilgisayar becerilerinin pafta tasarımına etkisi ve paftaların uzman ekip tarafından değerlendirilmesi ile paftaların güçlü ve zayıf yönleri ortaya çıkartılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçları, öğrencilerin projelerini paftada ifade ederken temel yaklaşımları göz ardı etme eğiliminde olduklarını göstermektedir.
