Abstract

Digitalization in the economic and financial sectors is currently advancing at a very rapid pace. Topics concerning cryptocurrencies, bitcoin, ethereum, and other blockchain-based assets have become significant and compelling issues. One particularly crucial topic today relates to digital currency. The decentralized nature of these digital currencies presents a myriad of opportunities and challenges. This study investigates contemporary views on digital currencies through sentiment analysis and evaluates them from an Islamic legal perspective. By analyzing 100 Scopus-indexed academic articles using the SentiStrength software, the study categorizes the sentiment into 45% neutral, 39% negative, 12% positive, and 4% highly negative. Neutral sentiment suggests a balanced scholarly stance, while negative views emphasize concerns over volatility, regulation, and security. From an Islamic viewpoint, digital currencies like Bitcoin are generally viewed as non-compliant due to speculation, gharar (uncertainty), and high risk. However, opinions vary depending on usage context. The study highlights the need for greater regulatory clarity and improved digital literacy. It offers valuable insights for scholars, policymakers, and Muslim stakeholders seeking to navigate the ethical and financial implications of these assets. This research uniquely contributes to the literature by combining computational sentiment analysis with Shariah evaluation, urging future research on practical applications and religious acceptability of digital currencies.

Araştırma, duygu analizini Şer'i hukuk değerlendirmesiyle birleştirerek literatüre özgün bir katkı sunmaktadır.
