Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the expectations and the reasons for program preference that they have been studying of teacher candidates. The current study has been carried out through a qualitative approach with a total of 100 teacher candidates from different departments at the Dicle University Ziya Gökalp Education Faculty. Maximum diversity sampling method preferred among the sampling types in selection of participants. As a matter of research ethics, in the selection of the participants were formed based on volunteering. The data of the study collected through a form which was formed by seven open-ended questions and developed in scope of Scientific Research Projects of Dicle University (code: ZGEF.17.015). The data collection tool was applied in the fall and spring semesters of the 2017-2018 academic year. Participants responded to the questions on the data collection during a class period and at a time. The data obtained were subjected to content analysis with a qualitative approach. Bu çalışma; öğretmen adaylarının, bulundukları üniversiteyi ve öğrenim görmekte oldukları programı tercih sebeplerini ve beklentilerini (üniversite eğitiminden, öğretim üyelerinden, hayattan, sınıf arkadaşlarından vb. beklentilerini) belirlemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma, 2017 – 2018 öğretim yılı itibariyle, Dicle Üniversitesi Ziya Gökalp Eğitim Fakültesi Türkçe Öğretmenliği Programında öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 129 öğretmen adayı ile yürütülmüştür. Mevcut çalışmanın bulguları, ZGEF.17.015 numaralı Dicle Üniversitesi Bap projesi kapsamında araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen 27 maddelik yapılandırılmış bir anket formunun açık uçlu yedi sorusundan elde edilen nitel verilere dayanmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı, 2017-2018 öğretim yılı güz ve bahar dönemlerinde katılımcılara uygulanmıştır. Katılımcılar, veri toplama aracındaki soruları bir ders saati içerisinde ve bir oturumda cevaplamışlardır. Elde edilen veriler, nitel bir yaklaşımla içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Oluşturulan kodlar ilişkilendirilerek önce sınıflandırılmış, daha sonra bu kategoriler de benzer yolla ilişkilendirilerek tümevarımsal yolla nihai kategoriler altında toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda elde edilen bulgulara dayalı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
