Abstract

This study examines the technology acceptance of service robots among tourism faculty students within the framework of the Extended TAM. The research involved collecting data from 428 undergraduate students via online surveys and examining variables such as perceived ease of use, hedonic motivation, attitudes towards service robots, purchase intention, and purchase behavior. The findings revealed that perceived ease of use has a significant and strong effect on hedonic motivation and attitude, while hedonic motivation significantly influences purchase intention and attitude, but does not directly explain purchase behavior. Mediation analyses show that hedonic motivation, attitude, and purchase intention play partial mediating roles in the model. The findings suggest that raising awareness of technology in tourism education and implementing application-based learning processes could be beneficial, and that robot technologies should be evaluated not only in terms of efficiency but also in terms of students’ perceptions and experiences with these technologies.
