Abstract

Şeyyad Hamza’s Masnavi of Yusuf and Züleyha is a truly significant and influential work within the cultural heritage of Turkish-Islamic civilization. This article provides an in-depth examination of the fundamental values of justice, respect, and responsibility found in the epic poem. The analysis, conducted through the lens of the “Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Model” and the “Virtue-Value-Action Model,” used the qualitative data analysis program MAXQDA 2024. A rigorous mixed-method approach was employed; a deductive method first established core themes, while an inductive method derived sub-codes. The analysis yielded a total of 233 data points across three main categories: justice (50), respect (89), and responsibility (94). The findings indicate that these values profoundly influence character behavior, shape the plot, and contribute to the text’s central themes. Prominent examples include Yusuf’s just actions, Züleyha’s respectful attitude, and Prophet Jacob’s sense of responsibility. The compelling results demonstrate that the core values within the masnavi directly and strongly align with the “Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Model’s” goal of cultivating virtuous individuals. This study aims to provide guidance to modern educators by highlighting the potential of literary works in values education.

Özet

Şeyyad Hamza’nın Yusuf ve Züleyha mesnevisi, Türk-İslam medeniyetinin kültürel mirasında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Bu makale, eserdeki adalet, saygı ve sorumluluk değerlerini, “Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli” ve “Erdem-Değer-Eylem Modeli” perspektifinden derinlemesine incelemektedir. Çalışma, bu mesnevinin değerler eğitimi bağlamındaki önemini ve zenginliğini vurgulamayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmada, mesnevinin “Erdem-Değer-Eylem Modeli” ile örtüşen yönleri ve değerlerin metinde nasıl işlendiği, nitel veri analizi programı MAXQDA 2024 kullanılarak detaylı bir şekilde analiz edilmiştir. Tümdengelimci bir yaklaşımla, adalet, saygı ve sorumluluk değerlerine ilişkin ana temalar oluşturulmuş ve metin bu temalar doğrultusunda taranarak ilgili bölümler tespit edilmiştir. Ardından, tümevarımcı yöntemle bu ana temalardan alt kodlar türetilerek değerlerin çeşitli boyutları belirlenmiştir. Analizler sonucunda, adalet (50), saygı (89) ve sorumluluk (94) olmak üzere üç ana değer başlığı altında toplam 233 veri noktasına ulaşılmıştır. Bulgular, mesnevideki bu değerlerin karakterlerin davranışlarını, olay örgüsünü ve metnin ana temasını derinden etkilediğini göstermektedir. Özellikle Yusuf’un adil davranışları, Züleyha’nın saygılı tutumu ve Hz. Yakup’un sorumluluk sahibi kişiliği gibi temalar öne çıkmaktadır. Elde edilen sonuçlar, eserdeki değerlerin, “Türkiye Yüzyılı Maarif Modeli”nin erdemli birey yetiştirme hedefiyle bire bir örtüştüğünü ortaya koymaktadır. Bu çalışma, edebî eserlerin değerler eğitimi potansiyeline dikkat çekerek günümüz eğitimcilerine rehberlik etmeyi hedeflemektedir.
