Abstract

This study examined science teachers' perceptions of technology use through a qualitative descriptive survey-based investigation within the framework of the technology acceptance model. Data were collected over the course of the pandemic and in the subsequent period. In the 2021-2022 academic year, 10 science teachers working in public schools in Aydın were included in the study based on the level of training they received in the use of technology. The data were collected via a semi-structured interview and analysed using the descriptive analysis method. The data obtained were classified according to the dimensions of the technology acceptance model and sub-dimensions and codes were reached. The views of science teachers on the use of technology were divided into two categories, before and after the pandemic, and categories were formed. The results indicated that the utilisation of technology by science teachers in their lessons was influenced by the usefulness of the technological tool, its ease of use, its suitability for their working style and method, their attitudes towards the tool, and their intentions towards the technologies they used. The findings provided valuable insights for the design and implementation of training programmes and workshops to enhance teachers' technological competencies. Additionally, the findings can inform educational policy and curriculum development studies. Future research should be conducted in diverse contexts and with different.
