Abstract

This systematic review examines psychological interventions applied to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms following earthquakes in Turkey. The review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in reducing PTSD symptoms. Accordingly, the study was conducted in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Databases such as PubMed, PsycINFO, Web of Science, Scopus, ScienceDirect, TR Dizin, and ULAKBİM were scanned based on predetermined criteria and keywords, and articles published in Turkish and English were included in the analysis. During the selection process, a total of 8 studies were reviewed, taking into account factors such as research design, participant characteristics, content of interventions, therapist qualifications, and measurement tools used. The results of these studies demonstrate that various intervention methods, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and psychoeducation, effectively reduce PTSD symptoms. This work is expected to contribute significantly to both clinical practice and academic research, filling the knowledge gap in the field of psychological interventions after earthquakes in Turkey and guiding future research.
