As is well know, instead of reference to Christianity it has been re-fered to the spiritual and cultural heretige of Europe in the draft of the European Union’s Constitution. This means that the EU has given up its Christian discourse and started to give preference to interreligious tolarance and dialogue. This development has led to the development of a new model which depends on interreligious harmony and dialogue in the education of religion. Today, we can see the best example of interreligious religious education model in England. This model has started to be used in England in the 1970’s by giving up inter-denominational religious education model. In the course of time this model became widespread all the European Countries. In this article, it is examined how interreligious religious education model is applied within the context of religion and culture course in the various countries of Europe.

Avrupa Birliği Anayasası Taslağında manevî kültür mirasına yer verilmesi sonucu artık Batıda hâkim söylem olarak “Hristiyan” söyleminden vazgeçilmiş, dinlerarası hoşgörüden söz edilir olmuştur. Öyle ki bu gelişme, din eğitiminde dinler arası hoşgörü modeli diye bir modelin oluşmasına ön ayak olmuştur. Bugün Avrupa’da din kültürü derslerinde, dinler arası hoşgörü örneğini İngiltere’de görüyoruz. Dinler arası hoşgörüyü mezhepler arası hoşgörüye indirgeyerek din derslerinin okulda verilmesine olanak tanıyan İngiliz Modeli 1970’li yıllarda devlet okullarında uygulamaya konulmuş ve zamanla diğer Avrupa ülkelerine yayılmıştır. İşte bu makalede Avrupa’nın çeşitli ülkelerinde din kültürü derslerinin dinler arası hoşgörü bağlamında nasıl verildiği anlatılmaktadır.
