Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate how to mathematically select a school librarian. OWA (Ordered Weighted Averaging) technique as a selection model to select a school librarian mathematically was used. For this purpose, firstly, the professional criteria which a school librarian must meet were described. Secondly, the importance weights representing the relative importance of each criterion were assigned. Thirdly, the extent to which the school’s librarian candidates meet these criteria was determined. Lastly, the final performance scores of all candidates by using the formula OWA were calculated. So, as the candidate satisfying most of the professional criteria has the highest score (0,6440), the candidate 2 (c2=0,6440) as the best school librarian have been chosen.

Öz: Bu çalışmanın amacı, okul kütüphanecisinin, matematiksel olarak nasıl seçileceğini göstermektir. Okul kütüphanecisini seçmek için matematiksel seçim modeli olarak OWA (Sıralı Ağırlıklandırılmış Ortalama)** yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu amaçla, ilk olarak okul kütüphanecisinin karşılamak durumunda olduğu mesleki kriterler tanımlandı. İkinci olarak her bir kriterin göreceli önemlerini gösteren önem ağırlıkları atandı. Üçüncü olarak okul kütüphanecisi adaylarının bu kriterleri ne ölçüde karşıladıkları saptandı. Son olarak OWA formülünü kullanmak suretiyle tüm adayların nihai performans skorları hesaplandı.
