Bu incelemenin amacı Atatürk’ü konu alan Bayönder adlı dramı inceleyerek Cumhuriyet’in tiyatro anlayışını ve Atatürk’ün tiyatroya verdiği önemi ve tiyatrodan beklediklerini tespit etmektir. Ayrıca, sanat değeri yönünden olmasa da, bir tiyatro eserinde Atatürk’ün karizmatik kişiliğinin, kendi kurgusuyla, nasıl yansılandığını göstermek de bu incelemenin amacı kapsamındadır.
