Abstract
This study examines the levels of professional motivation and attitude of imams. For this purpose, a questionnaire of personal question and an inventory of professional motivation and attitude were prepared and were administered to 672 imams who worked various mosques in Samsun and Rize in 2008. In order to test the findings, t-test and analysis of variance was used. It was found that there was a significant and important relationship between levels of professional attitudes and motivation of imams. It was also found that there was a significant difference between the levels of professional attitudes and motivation and some variables such as the educational level, reason for selecting profession, the year spent in work.

Bu çalışmada din görevlilerinin mesleki tutum ve motivasyon düzeyleri incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla hazırlanan kişisel bilgi anketi ile mesleki tutum ve mesleki motivasyon ölçekleri, 2008 yılında Samsun ve Rize’de 672 din görevlisine uygulanmıştır. Toplanan verilerin analizinde t-testi ve varyans analizi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda din görevlilerinin mesleki tutumları ile motivasyon düzeyleri arasında önemli ve olumlu bir ilişki görülmüştür. Ayrıca, öğrenim durumu, mesleği tercih nedeni ve kıdemi bakımından din görevlilerinin mesleki tutum ve motivasyon düzeyleri arasında önemli bir fark ortaya çıkmıştır
