Abstract
The Kvablian region of Ahiska sanjak was within the border of the Otoman State for 250 years and today it is connected to the Smatskhe-Javakheti region of Adigeni municipality, the republic of Georgia. In the last 25 years, a big attention was given to the state recordings of Otoman State, but the‘‘Defter-i Mufassal Vilayet-i Gurcistan’’ dated 1595- that is very valuable treasure, was one of the exception. Our aim in this study is to give information about the economic, demographic situation of Kvablian region in the XVI century based on the book stated above. The state recordings ‘‘Defter-i Mufassal Vilayet-i Gürcistan’’ contains wealth informations about language, history, economy and geography. Özet
250 yıl Osmanlı Devleti sınırları içerisinde olan Ahıska Sancağı’nın Kvabliyan Nahiyesi günümüzde Gürcistan Cumhuriyeti Samtshe-Cavaheti Bölgesi’nin Adigün Belediyesi’ne bağlı bulunmaktadır. Son 25 yılda tahrir defterlerinin incelenmesine geniş yer verilse de Osmanlı’nın düzenlediği 1595 tarihli ‘‘Defter-i Mufassal Vilayet-i Gürcistan’’ gibi çok değerli bir hazine bu çalışmaların dışında kalmıştır. Tahrir defteri verilerine dayanarak yaptığımız bu çalışmamızdaki amac Kvablian Nahiyesi’nin XVI. Yüzyıl sonlarındaki demografi ve ekonomik durumu hakkında bilgi vermekdir. Dil, tarih, ekonomi ve coğrafiya’ya ait zengin bilgiler içeren‘‘Defter-i Mufassal Vilayet-i Gürcistan’’ tahrir defterindeki Kvablian nahiyesi bilgilerinin araştırılması hem Türkiye, hem Gürcistan, hem de tüm Kafkasya için önemli olacaktır
