Abstract

Aim: Our aim in this study; Determining neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and thrombocyte lymphocyte ratio (TLO) measured from plasma obtained from venous blood as whole blood test parameter in patients with Sjögren Syndrome (SS) who applied to Sakarya University Training and Research Hospital (SÜEAH) Rheumatology Polyclinics and SS and to investigate the relationship between these parameters. Materials and Methods: The data of the patients we included in the study were obtained retrospectively from the patients with SS who applied between 01.01.2018 and 30.06.2020 through the hospital information management system (HIMS). To the control group; Patients with rheumatic diseases, diabetes mellitus and any allergic diseases, and patients with active infection were not included. In addition, patients with a diagnosis of cancer or a treatment and patients with a chronic disease were not included in the control group. Results: 8 male and 92 female patients with 100 SS who met the study criteria, mean age was 55.33 ± 14.84. In the control group, 11 of 100 cases were male and 89 were female, with an average age of 52.69 ± 13.69. NLR of SS patients were 2.32±1.21, PLO was 139.58±39.99, for control group, NLR was 1,69±0,91, PLO was 103.66±23.30. When SS patients and control group were compared statistically, NLR values were found (p <0.05) and PLO values (p <0.05). Conclusion: In our study, NLR and TLO values were found to be high in patients with SS. This result reveals that the test parameters we examined are important in the diagnosis and follow-up of SS. Determining these values to be high will contribute to taking these values as reference in future studies.
