Abstract
\r\n Universities offer more programs for individuals to make career choices by their skills and interests. Computer Education and Instructional Technology (CEIT) department offers a program for those who want to advance in educational technology career. The aim of this study is to investigate the differences in student views about CEIT program before they make their decisions and after they start their major. The study covers CEIT students from two different universities. Data collection instruments are demographic information form; views to profession scale and interview protocol. Findings suggest that there is no significant difference in students’ viewpoints about the program before and after they decide their career, and that the students have positive attitudes towards their program. Some recommendations are made based on the results.\r\n

\r\n Üniversitelerin kapsamında öğrencilerin kendi ilgi ve yeteneklerine uygun mesleği seçebilmeleri için BÖTE gibi pek çok program yer almaktadır. Bu araştırma farklı üniversitelerin BÖTE bölümlerine kayıtlı olarak okuyan öğrencilerin tercih aşamasındaki ve sonrasındaki programa bakış açılarının ve üniversite yaşamının bu bakış açılarına etkilerinin belirlenmesi ve duruma yönelik öneriler geliştirilmesi amacıyla 2008-2009 yılı güz yarıyılında Atatürk ve Erzincan Üniversitelerinin BÖTE programlarında okumakta olan öğrencilerle yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak bilgi formu, ölçek ve görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin programa bakış açılarında tercih öncesi döneme göre büyük farklılıkların oluşmadığı ve bölüme yönelik olumlu tutum içinde oldukları ortaya çıkmıştır.\r\n
