\r\n Democracy is a term which consists of the concepts of equality, independence, secularism, justice, tolerance, love, respect and human rights. Thus, the individuals who have had the education of democracy are expected to transfer all these values to the next generations. The aim of the study is to investigate democratic attitudes of would-be teachers in terms of genders and departments. The population of the study is totally 229 students at the Faculty of Education at Selçuk University. At the end of the study, it was found out that there was no significant difference between the students' democratic attitudes and their genders and departments.\r\n

\r\n Demokrasi, eşitlik, özgürlük, laiklik, adalet, hoşgörü, sevgi, saygı, insan hakları gibi kavramları içerisinde barındıran bir terim olmakla birlikte demokrasi eğitimi almış bireylerin gelecekte aynı değerleri yeni nesillere aktarması beklenir. Araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının demokratik tutumlarının cinsiyet ve alan türü değişkenleri açısından incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2007- 2008 öğretim yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan toplam 229 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırma sonunda, öğrencilerin demokratik tutumları ile cinsiyet ve alan türü değişkenleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı ortaya çıkmıştır.\r\n
