The Critical Reading Skills of Primary School Students According to Gender Differences and Educational Level of their Fathers and Mothers

Özet

Yapılan bu çalışmada, öğrencilerin cinsiyetinin, anne-baba eğitim durumlarının, öğrencilerin el impressel okuma becerileri. etkilenmek. Araştırmanın örneklemini Bursa ili Osmangazi ve Yıldırım ilçelerindeki ilköğretim okullarında öğrenim gör 185. Sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Elde SPSS paket programı kullanılmış, t-testi ve Tek Yönlü Anova testi uygulanarak iyileştirmeye çalışıldı. Çalışmanın sonunda, anne ve baba eğitim durumuunun, çocukların eleştirel okuma düzeyleri üzerinde bir etkisinin olmadığı, cinsiyet faktöründe kız öğrencilerin el impressel okuma düzeylerinin daha yüksek olduğu gözlenmiştir

Abstract

This study was intended to investigate the critical reading levels of the 5 th class students according to gender differences and educational background of their family. A total of 185 5 th grade students who were chosen randomly from the students of primary schools in Bursa were participated in the study. This was regarded as a descriptive study. Data was collected by a critical reading scale which determines the critical reading skills of students developed by Ünal (2006). Significance of the difference between genders and family educational background was examined with t-test and One-Way Anova test. According to the results of the study, critical reading skills of students haven’t increased with the family educational background but there is a meaningful difference between genders in favor of the girls.
