ANALYSIS OF GRADUATE THESIS PUBLISHED IN TURKEY ON THE HEALTH CARE MANAGEMENT - 2014-2017

Özet

Yaşamsal fonksiyonlarla ilgili olduğundan, tarihten bu yana sağlık hizmetleri en önemli sistemlerden biridir. Sağlık hizmetlerinin yönetimi ve işletmeciliğinin tarihsel süreç içerisinde takip ettiği döngünün ve konuya ilişkin mevcut durumun ortaya konması; geleceğe yön verilmesi anlamında büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı sağlık hizmetleri yönetimi ve işletmeciliğine ilişkin Türkiye'de 2014-2017 yılları arasında yayınlanan lisansüstü tezlerin türleri, yılları, anabilim dalları ve yayınlanan üniversitelere göre incelenmesidir. Araştırma nicel araştırma modeli ile desenlenmiştir. Araştırmada betimsel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini ise 2014-2017 döneminde Türkiye'de yayınlanmış olan 292 lisansüstü tez (yüksek lisans-doktora) oluşturmaktadır. YÖK Veri Tabanında sağlık hizmetlerinin yönetimi ve işletmeciliğine ilişkin Sağlık Kurumları Yöneticiliği Anabilim Dalı (n=21), Sağlık Yönetimi Anabilim Dalı (n= 181), Sağlık Kurumları İşletmeciliği Anabilim Dalı (n=39), Sağlık Kurumları Yönetimi Anabilim Dalı (n=41), Sağlık Hizmetleri Yönetimi Anabilim Dalı (n=4), Sağlık Kurumları İşletmeciliği ve Yöneticiliği Anabilim Dalı (n=4) olmak üzere 6 anabilim dalında yayınlanmış olan 260 yüksek lisans tezi ve 32 doktora tezi incelenmiştir. Tezlerin anabilim dallarına göre dağılımı incelendiğinde ise en fazla tezin sağlık yönetimi anabilim dağında yapıldığı, en fazla tezin Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Okan Üniversitesi ve Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi'nde yayınlandığı söylenebilir. Sağlık kurumları yönetimi ve işletmeciliğini her boyutuyla ve sağlık sisteminde olan değişikliklere yönelik olan tartışmalarla birlikte inceleyen bilimsel çalışmaların yapılması önerilebilir

Abstract

Health services have been at the forefront of the most important systems since history because it is related to vital functions. The course of the management and operation of healthcare services in the historical process is great significance in the sense that the current situation regarding the subject will be directed to the future. The purpose of this research is to examine the graduate theses published in Turkey between 2014 and 2017 regarding the management and operation of health care services in terms of types, years, branches of education and universities published. The research was designed with quantitative research model and descriptive survey model was used. The research population consists of 292 graduate theses published in Turkey in the period of 2014-2017. 260 masters and 32 doctorate theses which were published in CoHE (Council of Higher Education) database on health care management by Management of Health Care Institutions Department (n = 21), Health Care Management Department (n = 181), Health Care Institutions Operational Management Department (n = 39), Health Care Institutions Management Department (n = 41), Health Care Services Management Department (n = 4), Health Care Services Operational Manegement Department (n = 4) were examined. When the distribution of the theses according to departments is examined, it can be said that the thesis is mostly published in health management department; most of the thesis is published in Hacettepe University, Okan University and Süleyman Demirel University. It may be advisable to conduct scientific studies that examine the management of health care services in all its dimensions and with discussions on changes in the health care system Although we can talk about transformation by interacting with all systems in the century we live, health services have been at the forefront of the most important systems since history because it is related to vital functions. The course of the management and operation of health services in the historical process is great significance in the sense that the current situation regarding the subject will be directed to the future. Individual and organizational precautions will be taken in the area where the studies on the management and management of health services contribute to the field, health organizations and the field of practice. The awareness of the problems in the context of effective management of health services in Turkey will increase and the process of change in health management will come to the agenda. This study is also important in terms of monitoring graduate work in academic fields. Reconsideration of the studies done in holistic point of view is important in terms of improving the health management process and contributing to the resolution of problems.The purpose of this research is to examine the graduate theses published in Turkey between 2014 and 2017 regarding the management and operation of health care services in terms of types, years, branches of education and universities published. According to the results of the research, it is seen that 292 graduate theses published in Turkey in the period of 2014-2017 regarding the management and operation of health services, 89.04% of graduate thesis are master thesis and 10.96% of them are doctorate thesis. When the distribution of theses according to departments is examined, it is seen that the thesis is mostly done in the department of health management. When the distribution of the theses according to the department, types, years and universities is examined we can say that; All of the theses published in the management of health care institutions department were published in in 2017, 2016 and 2015, and three quarters of the thesis was published in 2016 and most theses have been published in İstanbul Bilim University and Cumhuriyet University. The thesis published in the department of health care management in 2016 and 2015 is more than 2 times more than thesis published in 2017 and 2014, most of the theses have been published in Okan University and Süleyman Demirel University. Three quarters of thesis in health care institutions operational management department were published in 2016 and 2014, most theses were published in Atılım University. The majority of theses in the department of health care institutions manegement are published in 2016 and 2015, most of the theses were published in Hacettepe University. The theses have not published yet in 2017 in the department of health care services management; the ratios of the theses published in other years are close to each other. It is seen that all of the thesis in the department of health care services operational management are master thesis and published in Eurasia University in 2016 and 2014. When the distribution of the theses according to departments is examined, it can be said that the thesis is mostly published in health care management department, most of the thesis is published in Hacettepe University, Okan University and Süleyman Demirel University. The first graduate thesis on health care management in Turkey was published in 1978.
