Abstract

Abstract: Hypertension is one of the leading problemsof the worldwide public health. As the group ofcardiovascular diseases is the number one killer,hypertension should be controlled even in the level ofindividual or country. From its genesis, social theoriescan explain its increasing prevalence and apply for itsprimary prevention. In fact, hypertension is a social-impact disease, particularly, in the globaliz world. Thisarticle demonstrates how social changes(Westernization) influence the genesis and how socialawareness as well as its strategies can protect peoplefrom hypertension.Key words: Hypertension, social impact, social changes
