Abstract
The aim of this study is to elicit the current situation and determine future tendencies abouthistory education in Turkey by reviewing thesis. Document analysis, one of the methods ofqualitative methodology, was used in the study. As documents, in total 368 theses, registeredin Turkish Council of Higher Education Thesis Database were explored. Collected data wereanalyzed with content analysis. The results showed that the majority of theses were at masterlevel, the numbers of publication years of theses were increased after 2000 and the majorityof them were prepared in established universities, founded in the big cities of Turkey. In thecontext of subject, institutional studies, historians and historiography, textbooks, teachinglearningtheory and approaches, instructional technology and materials and out of schoolhistory education were among the most studies topics. In the context of method, historical anddescriptive methods were among the most studies methods.
