Abstract
This study was carried out in order to determine the feeding value of Astragalus hamosus L. species, which are commonly found in Southeastern Anatolia Region, and to reveal the similarity of the locations. For this reason, the plant materials of the study were collected from 20 different locations of the region. Accordingly, crude protein, ADP (insoluble protein in acid detergent), ADF (insoluble fiber in acid detergent), NDF (insoluble fiber in neutral detergent), digestible dry matter (DDM), dry matter intake (DMI), relative feed value (RFV), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) contents of dry forage of Astragalus hamosus species, collected from different locations of Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, were determined. The statically analysis revealed that there were highly significant differences among the locations in terms of all of the investigated traits. When the results of the study were evaluated, it was revealed that forage of Astragalus hamosus is having low ADF, NDF content and having high crude protein, digestible dry matter, dry matter intake and relative feed value. Furthermore, Ca, P, K and Mg contents and K:(Ca+Mg) ratio in the Astragalus hamosus forage were found at the desired level for livestock feeding. However, the Ca:P ratio was found to be above the maximum level (>2). Clustering analysis was performed to determine the similarity of the locations. As a result of the clustering analysis, it was seen that 20 different locations were essentially divided into four groups. In terms of the characteristics examined, it was seen that Diyarbakır-Ergani and Mardin-Merkez locations were closest and Diyarbakır-Merkez (1) and Şırnak-Cizre locations were farthest locations from each other.
