Özet

For the purpose of this paper, the concept of national sovereignty refers to the highest authority or supreme power, which a state is entitled under international law to exercise, in principle, within its borders. However, this paper does not have for its object to study the concept of national sovereignty as such. Rather, it shall examine the situation in Turkey, in tl1e light of the evolution of that concept, with special reference to the developments in the field of human rights and economic and political integration in Europe.
